I would suspect that other way around _might_ be true for some reason - i.e. thread object is destroyed before wait is completed, and so something is referencing *this when
it isn't there already.
Can you give me binary that crashes, so that I can look at it? Or access to the system that does it?

Once I can build ;-)
Make sure that doing clean check out of CVS is buildable in _separate_
directory.
Once that's done, I'll try. Oh, and to help you keep it clean
afterwards, use .cvsignore files.
